Juve Snatch 2-2 Draw with Venezia Thanks to Last-Gasp Vlahovic Penalty
Juventus managed to secure a 2-2 draw against struggling Venezia at home on Saturday, thanks to a last-second penalty converted by Dusan Vlahovic. This result extended Juve's streak of draws this season.
As the match approached its conclusion, it looked like Juventus would suffer their first league loss of the campaign. However, in a stroke of luck, the ball struck Venezia defender Antonio Candela's arm in the dying moments, granting Vlahovic the opportunity to score from the penalty spot.
With this draw, Juventus recorded their 10th draw of the season, and their fourth consecutive stalemate, placing them sixth in the league with 28 points—nine points behind leaders Atalanta. Venezia remains at the bottom of the table with just 10 points.
The match began positively for Juventus, as Federico Gatti broke the deadlock in the 19th minute. He capitalized on a corner that was flicked on toward the far post, where he was unmarked and easily tapped the ball in.
Despite Juve's dominance, Venezia equalized shortly after the hour mark when Mikael Egill Ellertsson headed home.
The game took an unexpected turn seven minutes from time when Jay Idzes headed Venezia in front following a well-delivered free-kick, leaving the home fans stunned. However, Vlahovic's late penalty ensured that Juventus salvaged a point from the match.
