"I mentioned earlier, the target is to win against Myanmar and Laos. Against Vietnam, because they are a full team, a draw would be extraordinary for us. Against the Philippines, the target is to draw or win," said Erick Thohir.
"If we had lost to Laos, I wouldn't be satisfied with that," he added.

In terms of head-to-head statistics, Indonesia boasts a marginal advantage with 11 wins, 11 draws, and 8 losses from 30 previous encounters against Vietnam. Interestingly, Indonesia has yet to lose in the group stage of the AFF Cup when facing Vietnam, holding onto four draws and securing their sole victory back in 2004.


Regarding the Indonesian National Team's chances of qualifying for the 2024 AFF Cup semifinals, Erick remained optimistic.
"I don't know, we'll see. Nothing is impossible. I always say we must have a target in every match and give our best effort. Otherwise, why join the competition? But we must have a strategy," he concluded.
