Arsenal Negotiates Contract Extension for Thomas Partey Amid Transfer Rumors

April 24, 2025 — According to a recent report by The Athletic UK's top journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal is keen for Thomas Partey to stay at the club after his current contract expires and is in negotiations with the midfielder regarding a contract extension.
The 31-year-old's contract is set to expire this summer, and if no extension is agreed upon, he will leave as a free agent.
Rumors of Partey's departure have been circulating for some time, but with his resurgence in Mikel Arteta's team, both the head coach and the club are eager to extend his contract.
The Ghanaian international is happy at Arsenal, and his family enjoys living in London.
He is open to a two-year deal or a one-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.
If an agreement cannot be reached, Partey will also consider other options.
Thomas joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 and has played a crucial role in the club’s development, despite having missed some time due to injuries.
He will miss the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain next week but is expected to return for the second leg on May 7.
Various media outlets have previously mentioned interest from clubs like Barcelona in Thomas.
